Description of Services:
Hospital inpatient neurological rehabilitation program * comprised of 30 beds and provides medium term rehab care to Mississauga's patients * coordinated care team include physiatrist, allied health, and nursing staff * typical stay lasts 30 days * interdisciplinary team actively follows a goal-oriented rehab model of care to help patients further recover and to learn and develop skills which will help them function more independently * patients and families work on rehabilitation goals to facilitate a transfer from the hospital to the home or other community setting * patients serviced by the unit include stroke, acquired brain injury/trauma, neurosurgical, cardiac, medical and surgical * innovative programs include pet therapy, Tai Chi, and patient and family education
