Family Court Support Services

Provides support to victims of domestic violence navigating the family court system * supports clients in understanding their rights for making informed decisions on matters related to custody, child support, spousal support, and division of property and assets

The program provides the following supports:

• facilitate understanding of the family court system by debriefing outcomes of court appearances and lawyers appointments
• conducting risk assessments and developing safety plans
• assistance in documenting the history of abuse
• accompaniment during court proceedings where appropriate
• access to free legal clinics and consultations
• support with legal aid applications and appeals
• when needed, Indus will facilitate a referral and connection of French-speaking clients to OASIS Centre des Femmes
