Services provided to:
Clients may access this 24-hour, 7-day a week service through Emergency Department and are taken to safe, private, secure unit called Chantel's Place * specially-trained nurse provided one-to-one care, which may include assessment, treatment, documentation of injuries, safety planning, emotional support, and information concerning medical, legal and counselling options
The Follow-Up Clinic provides survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence with an opportunity to received a range of medical services that may include re-documentation of injuries, care related to medication and/or results of testing and referral to social service agencies
Counselling services available at the Mississauga Hospital site
- individuals 12 years of age or older who have been recently sexually assaulted (usually within the last 12 days)
- individuals 16 years of age or older who have incurred recent injuries as a result of domestic violence
- children under the age of 12 who require care, assessment and/or documentation as a result of sexual assult/abuse
