Description of Services:
Nutritious food provided to low-income families * coordinates a range of programs that help clients address the causes and consequences of hunger and poverty
Programs:
Food Bank: A grocery store model to provide food for low-income individuals and families
Grocery Delivery: For homebound clients within catchment areas
Community Teaching Kitchens: Cooking classes and culinary training across two kitchens to improve long-term health, employment, and social outcomes
Settlement Services: Through partnerships with external agencies, provide services for newcomers to help access resources and support their acclimation in Canada
Navigation Program: Improve the quality of life for clients by helping them navigate community resources and programs
Dental Screenings: Dental hygienists from the Canadian Academy of Dental Hygiene provide free oral health screenings to clients and offer referrals for cost-effective treatment
Meal Delivery for Seniors: Delivering two meals per day, five days per week, to seniors living in Mississauga and select parts of Brampton who are unable to cook for themselves
