LINC: permanent residents, Convention refugees and live-in caregivers; Language Training for Newcomers in Health Care: newcomers to Canada, permanent residents, Convention refugees, live-in caregivers, temporary resident pathway for extended family members in Gaza of Canadian citizens; CLB level 3-5 Skills Trades Employment Support for Newcomers: Permanent Resident (PR), Convention refugees, live-in caregivers, Special Measures for Extended Family in Gaza (MOME2023), interested in pursuing a career in skilled trades; Employment Support for Newcomers:Convention refugees, open work permit holders, temporary resident pathway for extended family members in Gaza of Canadian citizens and permanent residents; Self Employment for Newcomers Program: permanent residents, Convention refugees, live-in caregivers, and temporary resident pathway for extended family members in Gaza of Canadian citizens and permanent residents, Canadian citizens, refugee claimants and persons with a work permit; Language and Skills Training: Transportation & Supply Chain: permanent residents, Convention refugees, live-in caregivers, and Special Measures for Extended Family in Gaza (MOME2023); must have English level of CLB 2-5

Description of Services:
Provides settlement services to newcomers
Participates in LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) in English, upon assessment by YMCA of Greater Toronto - see separate entry; transportation and child minding available
Family Literacy Program - language and age-appropriate family reading resources through a lending library
- activities to encourage and reinforce family language learning
- 9 weeks of instructional training followed by a volunteer placement opportunity
- sector-specific language training and workplace culture education to help newcomers develop health care skills and prepare for careers in health care
Employment Support for Newcomers
- one-on-one services to support developing action plans to reach employment goals
- provides resources and referrals for employment needs
- supports newcomers to explore self-employment options, develop personalized road map to self-employment, and get connected to specialized supports for small business
- monthly workshops and one-on-one support to clients who are looking for self-employment opportunities or starting their own business in Canada
