Eligibility / Target Population
Eligibility: Living in the City of Toronto, Without a primary care provider (family doctor, nurse practitioner; obstetrician/midwife for pregnant clients), Without medical insurance due to: 3-month wait period for OHIP, no legal immigration status (non-status), Refugee claim process and IFH is expired or refugee claim was rejected/suspended/ineligible, Moving to Toronto from another country for temporary work AND making minimum wage (or less) AND cannot afford private health insurance. Target Population: Current NIWIC clients, Prospective NIC clients, Community partners (CHCs, settlement organizations, community organizations), Referring providers (solo practitioners, other CHCs), Access Alliance staff

The Non-Insured Clinic (NIC), previously the Non-Insured Walk-In Clinic (NIWIC), offers confidential primary care services to immigrants and refugees in Toronto who do not have health insurance or coverage under the Ontario Health Information Program.
