Description of Services:
Works to ensure that older adults remain active, independent, and engaged in their community, improving their health and well-being * offers social, educational, health/wellness and multicultural programs * in-person or online classes available * volunteer opportunities available
- active programs * chair-exercise, coed fitness, gentle yoga, mall walkers, stretch and meditation, table tennis, tai chi, toning, zumba
- arts, crafts and music * lectures and workshops, acrylic painting workshop, ukulele (basic and intermediate), choir, jewelry making class, stitch and chat, etc
- cards and games * bingo, cribbage, dominoes, euchre, "brush up on bridge"
- dance programs * ballroom dance, line dancing, belly dancing, sit and dance, international folk performance class, flamenco dance workshop, etc.
- educational programs * various computer workshops/classes, one-on-one computer tutoring, social media, book club, creative writing, internet cafe, guided meditation, Lunch n' Learn lecture series, etc
- health and wellness programs * blood pressure clinic, hearing clinic, foot care clinic ($15 per visit), dental care program for seniors, physiotherapy ($50 for 40 minutes), telephone reassurance program for mental health support (provided through Peel Senior Link), cooking healthy meals workshop, Community Cafe dining program, counselling and support, health information sessions, etc.
